Privacy Policy for TypeMetrics

1. Introduction

Thank you for using TypeMetrics ("the App"), developed by LorisLabs ("we," "us," "our"). Your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains what information we handle and, more importantly, what information we **do not** collect. Our core philosophy is to process all sensitive data on your device.

2. Information We Handle

TypeMetrics is designed to be a private, on-device tool.

2.1. Non-Personal Information

Typing Analytics Data: We collect performance data such as Words Per Minute (WPM), accuracy, consistency scores, key-to-key latency, and other metrics.

App Settings & Achievements: We store your preferences (like themes, fonts) and gamification progress (badges, activity heatmap).

All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. It is not transmitted to us or any third party.

2.2. Sensitive Data: The AI Vision Coach (Camera Usage)

This is the most critical part of our privacy commitment.

How it Works: The AI Vision Coach uses your Mac or iPad's camera and Apple's on-device Vision framework to analyse your posture in real-time.

What We Do NOT Collect: We DO NOT collect, store, view, record, or transmit any video feed, images, or identifiable facial data from your camera.

On-Device Processing: All image processing occurs in real-time, directly on your device's Neural Engine. The only result of this processing is non-personal, anonymous ergonomic data (e.g., the relative position of your head to the screen). This data is immediately discarded after use and is never saved.

3. User-Imported Content

The "Custom Import" feature allows you to practise with your own text or code. This content is processed locally for your typing session and is not stored, analysed, or transmitted by the App.

4. Data Synchronisation (iCloud)

If you choose to enable iCloud synchronisation, your typing analytics and settings will be securely synced across your devices using your personal Apple iCloud account. This process is governed by Apple's own robust privacy and security policies. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

5. Data Export

The App allows you to export your performance data as a CSV file. This action is initiated entirely by you. You are in full control of the exported file and where you choose to store or share it.

6. Third-Party Services

TypeMetrics **does not** contain any third-party analytics, advertising services, or trackers.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
